If Administrators haven’t upgraded the “Microsoft Entra Connect Sync” to the minimum required version, the following is the impact when the service change takes effect:
- Configuration of AD FS scenarios through the Connect Sync wizard may not work
- Configuration of PingFederate scenarios through the Connect Sync wizard may not work

Administrators are required to update the “Microsoft Entra Connect Sync” to the latest version 2.4.27.0 or at least to version 2.4.18.0 minimum to have the ADFS and PingFederate Configurations work without disruption.

Yes, Microsoft Entra Connect Sync versions are supported only for the 12 months from the release date. So, it is recommended to update the Microsoft Entra Connect sync to the latest version every quarter.
